This module builds on existing graphic design or children’s book design/illustration experiences. It aims to introduce graphic design (or students with an editorial team interest) to hands-on children’s book design and construction issues. In doing so students will learn about consideration and techniques used within the children’s publishing industry as well as considering the importance of illustration, creative writing and typography to this genre. Children’s book design is a specialist are within publishing and this module aims to help pave the way for aspiring children’s book designers, designers-illustrators or editorial team members who wish to fine tune their existing skill sets.
